SUMMARY:FBA Presents - Future-Proofing Your Fiber Network
DESCRIPTION:EPB launched America’s first community-wide Gig-speed internet in 2010\, later expanding the ubiquitously available service to 10 Gig in 2015 and 25 Gig in 2022. Since EPB Fiber Optics first began offering connectivity services a little over a decade ago\, it’s market share has grown to nearly 80% of the service area. Today\, using Hexagon’s network solution\, EPB can evolve their data model to include the logical components of the network\, increase the fidelity of data\, and make a commitment to increased precision of both physical and logical assets. \nJoin this webinar to hear valuable lessons learned that could help other fiber providers prepare for tomorrow by future-proofing their network to withstand potential challenges and accommodate the ever-increasing demand for data transmission. \nExperts from EPB and Hexagon will share ways to future-proof your fiber network including: \n1. Building a resilient architecture to reduce outage response times\n2. Enhancing throughput with capacity planning and increased backhaul\n3. Utilizing advanced electronics to increase speeds and lower latency\n4. Analyzing network traffic with dynamic data modelling\n5. Continuously improving data fidelity \n  \nWebinar Speakers \nJoshua Wilshusen\, Solutions Consultant for Utilities and Communications\, Hexagon’s Safety\, Infrastructure & Geospatial division \nJoshua is a solution consultant and account executive at Hexagon. With 18 years of experience in spatial asset management for utilities and communications providers\, he is passionate about helping clients maximize ROI of fiber network assets in terms of providing network connectivity to consumers and enabling resilient\, agile networks. \nWes Hughes\, Manager\, Fiber Design\, EPB \nWith nearly 30 years in the telecom industry\, Wes Hughes manages EPB’s Fiber Design team\, ensuring the reliability and speed of the country’s first community-wide symmetrical 25 Gig internet service. Since 2004\, Wes has been an essential part of EPB’s fiber optic network development that designed the nation’s first community-wide Gig-speed internet in 2010 and launched America’s first commercially available quantum network. SUMMARY:FFB Week 21 - Planning the Future of Fiber Networks: 4S Design Considerations
DESCRIPTION:Our industry faces a tremendous moment of opportunity to connect the unconnected and deliver access to transformative applications – and fiber networks are at the center of it all. Meeting this moment calls for a new commitment to innovation in the passive optical network in four key areas – the S4 model: \n\nSpeed: From broadband networks to the data center\, operators must build faster\, to stay ahead of surging bandwidth demand and meet required timelines for government-supported projects.\nSize: Space is increasingly at a premium\, whether in the field\, a central office or a spine-to-leaf link inside a data center. Maximizing fiber density is critical.\nSimplicity: Skilled labor in the field remains scarce; operators need solutions to help them scale with fewer resources and minimize errors.\nSustainability: Network architects need optical solutions with a reduced carbon footprint to meet their aggressive environmental targets and build a more sustainable world.\n\nO’Day will discuss how delivering the promise of Internet for All will require sustained commitment to innovation in all four S’s from the entire industry ecosystem — operators\, standards bodies\, installers\, and equipment manufacturers. He will also share some of Corning’s newest innovations in each of these areas. \nWebinar Guest: \nMichael O’Day\nChief Technology Officer\nCorning Optical Communications \n \n \n Register Now

SUMMARY:How to Use Streaming Services to Drive Your Business
DESCRIPTION:The world of TV has never been more complicated\, but that also means the opportunity for broadband providers to embrace the change and help both broadband shoppers and customers figure it all out is as great as it ever was. In this webinar\, MyBundle CEO and Co-Founder\, Jason Cohen\, will focus on: \n\nHow broadband providers can use Live TV streaming alternatives to further broadband penetration and\nUtilize the Streaming Choice platform to incentivize new broadband customer acquisition\, speed upgrades\, reduce churn and more.\n\nThis webinar is brought to you by the FBA Marketing Committee. \n  \nWebinar Presenter \nPrior to starting MyBundle\, Jason Cohen was a Portfolio Manager at Buckingham Capital Management\, where he researched and invested in the Media/Telecom sector with a special focus on how streaming TV was disrupting the traditional ecosystem. Jason not only believed consumers would benefit from the increasing choice afforded by streaming\, but that a new golden age of broadband providers was around the corner due to the separation of broadband and video delivery. However\, with all that choice came new challenges\, and Jason started MyBundle in 2019 to help simplify streaming for consumers\, streaming services\, and broadband providers. From making it simpler to cut the cord to finding TV shows and movies on a customer’s current streaming services\, MyBundle is now helping over 165 broadband providers harness the power of streaming. \n  \n \n \n Register Now

SUMMARY:FBA Presents - Everything in Telecom Happens Someplace… But Can You Quickly Understand How or Why Before Taking Action?
DESCRIPTION:The telecommunications industry is working harder than ever to meet market demands. They need to maximize resources to grow and operate existing networks\, safeguard the customer experience\, and deliver services deeper into rural communities. \nSince virtually every aspect of business in the telecommunications industry involves location\, it only makes sense for organizations to take a geographic approach to manage their efforts. By using maps and spatial thinking to plan and design\, analyze\, collaborate\, and capitalize market opportunities\, organizations can provide the best possible awareness and understanding for completing tasks and solving problems. \nThis webinar highlights how service providers of any size can utilize ArcGIS to unify data and information contained in existing operations and business support systems to create and deliver simplified workflows and comprehensive understanding throughout the organization. \nHere are a few areas we’ll highlight in this session: \n\nEvolution of Communications: Welcome to the Immersive Era!\nNetwork maps: The foundation for the entire organization\nContent: Create and deliver a single source of truth\nComprehensive understanding: Through Analysis and Insight\nProductivity: Eliminating common frustrations and stressors\nScalability: Building your best team\n\n  \nWebinar Presenter \nRandall René\, Industry Solutions Specialist – Telecom\, Esri \nRandall René is an Industry Solutions Specialist for the Telecommunications industry at Esri. He brings a love of mapping\, efficient process design\, change management\, and over twenty years of experience in the telecommunications and cable industry. Randall has worked in a wide variety of positions throughout his career. He’s worked as a field tech\, built and supervised central offices\, led infrastructure planning and design teams\, and helped lead HQ enterprise GIS innovation and application development teams. When he’s not working\, you can find him volunteering in the community or enjoying outdoor activities. \n  \n \n \n Register Now
