SUMMARY:FFB Week 36 - Addressing All Barriers to Digital Equity
DESCRIPTION:Fiber buildout throughout the United States will not solve the digital divide alone. Though high-speed internet access is essential\, we will only see success if we acknowledge and address non-deployment barriers. Inclusion must be built in from the beginning\, not as an afterthought. Angela Siefer presents NDIA’s (potentially blasphemous) position in the fiber community and why implementing people-first digital inclusion solutions will be key to closing the digital divide. \nWebinar Presenter: Angela Siefer\, Executive Director\, National Digital Inclusion Alliance \nAngela founded the National Digital Inclusion Alliance (NDIA) in 2015. Since 1997\, she has been working in digital inclusion – she helped set up computer labs and digital inclusion programs in underserved areas\, managed broadband conferences\, conducted research\, built a nationwide digital equity ecosystem\, and testified multiple times before Congress. As the executive director of NDIA\, Angela leads the digital inclusion movement and community of 1\,400 affiliate organizations in 50\nstates\, DC\, and territories. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Schools\, Health\, & Libraries Broadband Coalition. Government Technology Magazine named Angela in their “Top 25 Doers\, Dreams\, and Drivers” of 2019\, and she received the United Church of Christ’s Parker Award in 2021. Google.org named Angela one of seven global “Leaders to Watch” in 2023. \n  \n \n \n Register Now

SUMMARY:FBA Presents - The Art & Science of WiFi Installations: How to Deliver the Ultimate In-Home Experience
DESCRIPTION:At Fiber Connect 2023 in Orlando\, there was lots of buzz around the importance of Customer Experience as many Service Providers are planning to\, or are in the process of\, rolling out fiber networks to hundreds if not thousands of households. Throughout the In-Home Experience panel during Monday’s General Session\, it was discussed how customers’ expectations are now that every device works in every room\, from day one. \nSo\, what can you do to ensure an excellent in-home quality of experience (QoE) for your new fiber subscribers? There are 3 key elements that factor into the art & science of WiFi installations. \n1. The Customer\n2. The Home\n3. The Technology \nAs most customers lack an understanding of WiFi\, they often want devices placed out of sight\, even if that compromises network performance. What if field techs could not only predict ideal CPE placement (for any brand of device)\, but also validate WiFi performance\, detect any dead spots and ultimately help educate customers on what they need for the best WiFi experience? \nYou’ll leave this session understanding: \n\nHow to educate customers on ideal router placement\nTools to help detect poor to zero WiFi coverage in the home\nWays to improve tech adoption and upsell opportunities\n\nTune in to this webinar to learn how you can help achieve optimal WiFi performance with RouteThis. \nWebinar Presenters \nJason Moore\, CEO & Co-Founder\, RouteThis\nJenni Dettman\, VP of Marketing\, RouteThis \n \n \n Register Now
