SUMMARY:FBA Presents - Cisco Agile Services Networking and the Emergence of AI
DESCRIPTION:AI is generating more data that needs to be processed\, transported\, and consumed across more locations\, devices\, and people on the network. Connecting all this data — and the services that consume it — requires service providers to rethink how they architect their network. Networks need to be agile and responsive and to operate autonomously in order to support the more demanding and dynamic nature of AI traffic. They also need to be able to implement predictive and proactive operations based on real-time data from across the network to assure network performance and network services supporting AI traffic. \nCisco® Agile Services Networking is an architecture designed to power AI connectivity and customer experiences. It enables service providers to monetize the delivery of assured services and networking. \nWith Agile Services Networking\, organizations can monetize services deployed closer to end-user demand from a network architecture optimized for intelligent service delivery; remove complexity with simplified networks that converge network layers and services; and assure experiences with resilient networks and services enabled by AI-powered automation\, observability\, and security. \nBenefits: \n\nDeliver improved experiences for residential\, business\, and mobile services with a network that can behave more autonomously\, making it simpler and more cost-effective to build\, operate\, and scale from locations closer to end users.\nMonetize differentiated connectivity services — such as assured SD-WAN\, network transport\, AI inferencing — by delivering resilient networking and services enabled by real-time observability and insights across owned and third-party networks.\nMeet performance requirements for transporting demanding AI training\, inferencing\, and generative AI applications (such as ones that require high bandwidth\, low latency\, security\, and resilience) with granular control of network resources.\n\nPresented by: \n \n \n \n Register Now

With critical targets of timelines\, revenue generating\, and customer retention\, CCI explains why it is so important to start strong and make sure you do not trip at the start line. Join us to hear how design and permitting give you the cornerstone building block to a successful project and how they complement each other throughout the entire project. \nWe plan to cover the complexities of fiber optic design and the critical role of permitting in ensuring project success. We will cover common challenges faced during the design phase\, such as avoiding existing utility conflicts\, governing agency pitfalls\, and collaborating with pole owners for pole availability. We’ll emphasize the importance of incorporating permitting information early in the design process to prevent costly redesigns and delays. \nThrough real-world case studies\, including experiences with broadband and telecom projects\, we’ll highlight the significance of understanding permitting requirements. Our emphasis will also be on proactive collaboration with design departments highlighting how permitting and design can work in tandem to provide valuable insights and streamline the integration of permitting into fiber optic design. \nWe plan to discuss strategies to overcome permitting hurdles and share polling questions to gauge the audience experiences. We are interested in how attendees handle their own permitting and how many view permitting as a determining factor in project success. \nPresented by: \n \n \n \n Register Now

SUMMARY:FFB Week 17 - From Access to Impact: A Major Push to Close the Digital Divide Across Michigan
DESCRIPTION:Everyone in Michigan should have access to affordable\, reliable high-speed internet—but according to the Michigan Department of Labor & Economic Opportunity\, more than 30% of Michiganders either lack access\, can’t afford it\, or don’t have the necessary skills or technology to get connected. In today’s world\, internet access isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity for education\, healthcare\, work\, and economic opportunity. \nThat’s where the Michigan High-Speed Internet Office (MIHI) comes in. MIHI is working to build a more digitally equitable Michigan\, where everyone can leverage technology to improve their quality of life. \nEstablished in June 2021 through an executive directive from Governor Gretchen Whitmer\, MIHI has been leading the charge to close the digital divide. In this week’s episode of Fiber for Breakfast\, Eric Frederick—MIHI’s first Chief Connectivity Officer—joins Gary Bolton\, President and CEO of the Fiber Broadband Association\, to discuss the early challenges he faced stepping into the role\, the team’s progress on Michigan’s Digital Equity Plan\, and what’s ahead in their mission to connect every Michigander. \nWith Special Guest: \n \n \n \n Register Now

SUMMARY:FFB Week 13 - Breaking Barriers: Using AI to Develop Stronger Connected Collaboration in Today's Fiber Industry
DESCRIPTION:According to the Michigan High Speed Internet Office\, as of 2023\, 730\,000 Michigan households face barriers related to affordability\, adoption\, device access\, digital literacy\, or a combination thereof. Taken together\, this means that approximately 30 percent of Michigan households struggle with some form of the digital divide.  Michigan’s digital equity strategy recognizes a fundamental complexity: no single organization can comprehensively address regional digital empowerment needs\, and that success can only be achieved through collaboration. Jon Willow\, co-founder of the Community Broadband Action Network (CBAN) has closely observed these challenges faced by diverse Michigan community-based entities.  She has applied her deep expertise in coalition research and project management and obtained a fellowship at Michigan State University (MSU) to investigate AI’s role in enhancing community-based coalition effectiveness in solving Michigan’s digital divide. During this episode of Fiber for Breakfast\, Jon joins FBA CEO Gary Bolton to discuss the methodologies and insights of her newly released research report and how the use of AI tools can offer a stronger\, connected collaboration across multiple agencies and organizations. \nWith Special Guest: \n\n\n\n\n\n\nJon Willow\nCo-Founder\, Board Chair\, Digital Equity Practice Leader\nCommunity Broadband Action Network (CBAN) \n  \n  \n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\n \n \n Register Now
