Luna Innovations Acquires OptaSense
Luna Innovations Incorporated has acquired OptaSense Holdings for 29 million British pounds. OptaSense specializes in fiber-optic distributed monitoring solutions for pipelines, oilfield services, security, highway monitoring, railway monitoring and power and utilities monitoring systems. The combined companies are expected to create the largest fiber-optic sensing company in the world. The deal will allow Luna to establish a presence in international markets and expand into high-growth industries. The acquisition should be completed in 2021.
