C Spire Foundation Commits $1 Million to Help Fund Computer Science Education
The C Spire Foundation has made a $1 million commitment to help school districts throughout Mississippi offer computer science programs. C Spire Foundation hopes to improve educational opportunities in the state for science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The donation comes as the Mississippi Legislature is expected to discuss a proposal that would give students equal access to computer science curriculum in the classroom. Last summer, lawmakers also passed two laws to reserve $200 million to assist 151 school districts purchase over 325,000 computers.
