Greenlight’s Fiber to the Home (FTTH) Service Reaches Greater Heights with New Leadership, Improved Offerings for Multi-Dwelling Units

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (March 5, 2024) – Greenlight Networks, the leading fiber-to-the-home provider in New York State, is pleased to announce its enhanced focus on serving property owners and consumers in multi-dwelling units (MDUs) and mixed-use environments, in addition to its residential customer base. As part of its commitment to MDU Fiber to Home (FTTH) services, the company has welcomed industry veteran, Kevin Gorman, as Director of Commercial Development and has added Total Managed Wi-Fi to its fiber network solutions for MDUs.

“While Greenlight has been serving a segment of MDUs and business owners over the years, we feel this is a market with tremendous growth potential. We’re not about gimmicks, this is about the customer experience. We’re enhancing our services with solutions like Total Managed Wi-Fi and offering bulk pricing options to ensure more apartment and mixed-use property tenants have access to reliable—and scalable—fiber internet,” said Gorman.

Gorman brings more than 37 years of experience to the role and is overseeing Greenlight’s commercial offerings available to MDUs, HOAs and small to medium-sized businesses. Given the rise of bandwidth-intensive services and applications, as well as the need for more reliable connections to support work-at-home, family and entertainment needs, often at the same time, there is a strong business case for all-fiber MDUs. Fiber internet is a future-proof technology with its ability scale and adjust to fluctuating and future bandwidth needs.

“In recent months, we’ve seen a significant rise in interest from property owners, condo boards, and HOAs in our multi-gig services, including 5 Gig. Of course, our new fully Total Managed Wi-Fi offering is also becoming a highly requested service for this audience as well,” said Michele Sadwick, Chief Revenue Officer, Greenlight Networks. “By adding Kevin to our team, we’re able to tap into his expertise and knowledge of this customer base to ensure we’re meeting their unique needs and ensuring they can enjoy a connectivity experience with some added peace of mind.”

Greenlight’s new Total Managed Wi-Fi, a professionally designed, implemented, and supported wireless network service, is a great option for MDU customers looking to extend fast fiber internet wirelessly to connected devices throughout a building. Early adopters of Greenlight’s Total Managed Wi-Fi customers have noted its affordability, reliability, and high performance.

According to Jim Gingello of Newport Highlands in Rochester, Greenlight’s high-speed internet is now one of its most sought-after amenities in their luxury apartments. Not surprising given Ronin Technology Advisors showed that 80 percent of MDU residents rated broadband Internet as being more important than other amenities.

“With Greenlight, we can feel confident that our residents are able to stream, monitor, watch, or game without any interruption. This kind of connectivity is what tenants are looking for when choosing an apartment to call home,” said Jim Gingello, Risk Manager, Newport Highlands.

Georgetown Park of Greece also recently introduced Greenlight’s Total Managed Wi-Fi, a fully managed service, to its 216-unit active senior community. “The best part is that Greenlight is partnering with us to host an education series for our residents. Their reps come on-site, answer questions, and provide such a high level of customer service. It’s so much more than we ever expected from an internet provider,” said Christina Rivituso, Community Manager, Georgetown Park.

Studies are showing that renters are known to be willing to pay an additional 8% per month if given access to fiber and overall property values are known to increase in 3% value just by having fiber installed.
