Fybe Serves Chowan County Boys and Girls Club on Volunteer Day

[Edenton, N.C.] – Fybe, a broadband service provider and a subsidiary of Roanoke Cooperative, proudly served the Boys and Girls Club in Edenton during its most recent “We Care Day” on Wednesday, June 12, 2024.

Fybe staff volunteered their time by assisting the Boys and Girls Club team with a variety of indoor and outdoor projects. Their efforts included repairing a mulch bed frame, refreshing the outdoor play area with new mulch and sand, and cleaning the facility’s interior by removing scuff marks and washing windows.

“These are our communities too,” said Bo Coughlin, COO. “That’s why We Care Days are important. They’re a way for us to get involved and make a positive impact where it matters most.”

The Edenton chapter of the Boys & Girls Club provides afterschool and summer programs for kids in grades K-12, and is one of two chapters that comprise the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Albemarle. Their after-school program offers homework help, tutoring, music, and art, as well as snacks and meals for an annual cost. Their mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need them most, to reach their full potential as responsible, productive, and caring citizens.

“Thank you very much for all you and your team did to spruce up our playground at the Boys & Girls Club!” said Elizabeth Mitchell, Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Club of the Albemarle. “Our Club members were thrilled to have a clean gaga ball pit, new mulch in the playground, and to have repairs taken care of on our playground equipment.”
