Burlington Telecom’s Gigabit Internet Deployed at Sunset House

Farrell Properties Commits to First Fiber-To-The-Unit Technology in Burlington

Burlington, VT, October 2, 2024: Burlington Telecom, in partnership with Farrell Properties, announced today the installation of gigabit internet service as an amenity at Farrell’s new property, Sunset House. This section at Cambrian Rise is the first multi-dwelling unit in Burlington to offer Fiber-to-the-unit (FTTU) technology. Sunset House now provides unparalleled internet speeds and reliability to its residents in all 134 units.

Fiber-to-the-Unit (FTTU) technology involves running fiber-optic cables directly to each individual unit within a building, rather than just to the building itself. This ensures that each residence has its own dedicated fiber connection, enabling the fastest and most reliable internet service available with speeds of up to 5 Gbps. As internet demands continue to grow, gigabit internet ensures that Sunset House can easily accommodate future advancements in digital services.

“We are excited to partner with Farrell Properties on this unique opportunity and applaud this forward-thinking investment in the property infrastructure Farrell has made. This is a great example of how Burlington Telecom adapts our technology to meet the ever-changing needs of our residents and businesses. By introducing Burlington’s first fiber-to-the-unit internet service at Sunset House, we are not only enhancing residents’ lifestyles, but also reaffirming our commitment to be truly future focused. The residents at Sunset House will enjoy faster speeds, greater reliability, and the assurance that their home is equipped with the latest technology.” says Nicholas Martin, Director of Business Development at Burlington Telecom.

“High-speed internet and a reliable wireless experience are integral to today’s lifestyle. Studies show residents value reliable internet more than in-unit laundry as an amenity, and Burlington Telecom provides a high level of service to accommodate the needs of our residents. The ability to work from home strengthens our commitment to reduce vehicle dependence, which serves to preserve air and lake quality for future generations. We strive to make Sunset House a truly special place to live in Burlington.” says project developer, Eric Farrell.
