TDS Telecom to Match Salvation Army Red Kettle Donations

TDS Telecom to Match Salvation Army Red Kettle Donations

TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) is set to match donations to the Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign in several of its Wisconsin communities.

TDS’ match day will come Monday, Dec. 2, at the start of the company’s annual Week of Giving philanthropic initiative. Red Kettle donations in communities including Green Bay, the Fox Cities, Fond du Lac, Wausau, Plymouth, and Onalaska will be matched up to a total of nearly $10,000 across all sites.

The donation is on top of the $10,000 TDS donated earlier this fall to the Salvation Army food pantry in Green Bay.

“Investing in our communities is one of TDS’ core values. As we continue expanding services in the state, we’re proud to support the crucial work that Salvation Army does to help those in need throughout Wisconsin and beyond,” said Drew Petersen, TDS Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs.

The Salvation Army’s iconic Red Kettle Campaign dates back to 1891, when Captain Joseph McFee of the Salvation Army in San Francisco set up a kettle to collect funds for a Christmas meal for the city’s poor. Over the past 130 years, the campaign has become a symbol of holiday giving, spreading across the nation and raising vital funds for programs providing food, shelter, and other assistance to those in need.

On Monday, Dec. 2, residents in participating Wisconsin communities are encouraged to visit any Salvation Army Red Kettle site to make their donation, knowing their contribution will have double the impact thanks to TDS’ matching program. Donations support local programs, ensuring funds stay within the communities where they are raised.

Madison-based TDS has served Wisconsin for more than 55 years. The company, operating as TDS Metrocom LLC, is constructing high-speed fiber networks in Green Bay, Appleton, Eau Claire, Janesville, and many other Wisconsin communities.
