Fybe Give Back to Gates County Community on Volunteer Day

[Gates County, N.C.] – Fybe, a broadband service provider and a subsidiary of Roanoke Cooperative, proudly served the Gates County Housing Authority during its most recent “We Care Day” on Wednesday, November 13, 2024.

Fybe staff volunteered their time by working on various housing projects. Their efforts included the construction of a small set of wooden stairs at the front of a home, power washing the home’s exterior and leveling walkways. Fybe also made a donation to the organization that will fund the cost of window replacements.

“Giving back to the communities we love is a privilege that our team is passionate about, especially as we make our way into the holiday season,” said Bo Coughlin, COO. “Our volunteer days give us the opportunity to make a difference and uplift those around us in any way we can, and we sincerely enjoyed spending time with the incredible members of the Gates County Housing Authority.”

The Gates County Housing Authority is 501(c)3 organization established in 2012 to assist with small home repairs concerning health and safety issues and housing resources for the following: limited resource, elderly, disabled and veterans. The Authority provides those who qualify with access to needed home improvements such as ADA compliant wheelchair ramps, rooves, HVAC units and similar improvement. The non-profit runs entirely on donations and volunteers from the public as well as state and federal grants when available.

“I would like to thank the Fybe community service efforts in assisting with urgent repairs made to homes in Gates County.  Our assistant to Gates County eligible homeowners depends solely on grants, donations, and in-kind support,” said Reba Green-Holley, President of Gates County Housing Committee. “Fybe’s generosity has allowed additional eligible families to have a safe, healthy home.”
