Fiber Day on the Hill will take place on April 9th from 10AM - 2PM in the Rayburn Foyer and provides an informative, hands-on experience to learn more about fiber’s role in expanding broadband access, creating jobs, strengthening rural communities, and driving economic growth. Demonstrations will showcase:
- Fiber 101 – The foundation of high-speed connectivity
- Fiber in Our Communities – How fiber transforms daily life across America
- Workforce Development – Addressing the demand for skilled fiber technicians and broadband jobs
- Rural and Agricultural Benefits – Empowering precision agriculture and remote economies
- When Fiber Leads, The Future Follows – Fiber’s Role in Artificial Intelligence, Data Centers, and Emerging Technologies
Attendees are welcome to briefly drop in to experience the demos, try fiber splicing, make fiber necklaces, and enjoy our giga-BITES station with District Doughnuts, Chick-fil-A, and more.
This event is designed to comply with House and Senate Ethics Rules. Executive Branch employees should obtain permission to attend from their designated agency ethics office.
