Visionary Broadband Acquires Mountain Broadband

GOLDEN, Colo. (Jan. 15, 2025) – Visionary Broadband has taken another major step toward improving internet access in rural Colorado with the acquisition of Mountain Broadband.

The deal will allow Visionary Broadband to bring faster, more reliable broadband to underserved areas, continuing its work to bridge the digital divide through significant investments in fiber networks. The company also plans to expand into areas surrounding the Mountain Broadband footprint in the coming months.

As part of this integration, Visionary Broadband will roll out Gigabit fiber internet in the Mountain Broadband coverage area over the next few months. Additionally, the Mountain Broadband team will be retained, ensuring their local expertise is paired with Visionary Broadband’s commitment to community-focused service.

“Acquiring Mountain Broadband aligns perfectly with our vision of bringing high-speed internet to rural areas,” said Brian Worthen, CEO of Visionary Broadband. “We are continuing our focus on reliable broadband in remote corners of the region.”

Mountain Broadband customers will benefit from Visionary Broadband’s direct peering with streaming giants Netflix, Google and Amazon for seamless entertainment experiences.

Mountain Broadband will officially rebrand as Visionary Broadband in the coming months, with customers noticing the new look on service trucks soon. Initially, the company will maintain separate websites during the billing transition, ensuring a smooth experience for all customers.

“We are thrilled to join Visionary Broadband,” said Mountain Broadband CEO Andy Hammond. “Their dedication to rural broadband innovation is unparalleled, and this will bring tremendous benefits to our customers, from upgraded speeds to continued local support.”
