Fybe Upgrades Fiber Network for Greater Reliability & Redundancy
Aulander, N.C. – Fybe, a broadband service provider and a subsidiary of Roanoke Cooperative, has finished upgrading its Fiber to the Home network, resulting in a 99.99% reliability with added redundancy.
The added resiliency will further ensure that Fybe customers have best-in-class internet regardless of factors like storms. By bolstering redundancy, customers should experience reduced incidents of lag, latency, or dropped internet, whether they’re gaming, streaming, or working from home.
“These days, reliable internet is a necessity,” said Bo Coughlin, COO of Fybe. “We’re committed to providing our customers with unbeatable internet that they can count on no matter what. Fybe has upgraded its core network to 100 Gbps, incorporating both geographic and logical redundancy to ensure the highest level of reliability for our customers.”
Fybe’s resilient fiber network has grown in recent months, adding several new cities to its connective web. In the process, the brand has introduced excellent internet service to thousands of customers.
Each new construction includes Fiber to the Home (FTTH) technology, commonly known as fiber internet. These broadband connections can reach speeds up to 2 Gbps and use a fiber-optic cable, which can send data as fast as about 70% of the speed of light. In addition, fiber-optic cables are not as susceptible to severe weather conditions as other types of traditional cables, which helps minimize outages and effectively resists electrical interference.
Furthermore, fiber internet is a reliable choice for households with multiple users and devices. Fiber to the Home networks facilitate increased internet traffic, even during peak periods on the evenings or weekends.
Having access to reliable, high-speed internet at a variety of price points gives local residents and businesses the tools they need to succeed in the modern world. With work, school, telehealth, and more requiring reliable internet services, Fybe’s team is dedicated to positioning locals for success in connectivity.
