PENNSYLVANIA TELEPHONE COMPANY TO JOIN LHTC BROADBAND

Donegal, PA (May 20, 2025) – Laurel Highland Total Communications, Inc. (LHTC) d/b/a LHTC Broadband, a regional telecommunications provider based in southwestern Pennsylvania, has announced its acquisition of Pennsylvania Telephone Company (PTC).

LHTC Broadband, originally founded in 1908, was established by local farmers and business leaders to bring telephone service to rural communities in the Laurel Highlands region of Pennsylvania. Over the years, LHTC has evolved into a forward-thinking provider, investing significantly in fiber infrastructure to bring high-speed symmetrical Internet to underserved areas across the state.

PTC, established in 1909, has served the Nippenose Valley region of Pennsylvania for more than a century, including the communities of Bastress, Collomsville, Oval, Oriole, and Rauchtown. Known for its reliable service and community focus, PTC has long been a trusted communications provider for rural residents.

“We are very pleased to add PTC to our group of companies, and we are looking forward to working together with PTC’s Vice President & General Manager, Rich Maietta, and his team to provide enhanced communication services to PTC’s customers,” said Jim Kail, President & CEO of LHTC Broadband. Kail added that he and his team plan to be actively engaged in the communities served by PTC.

This acquisition marks a major step forward in expanding broadband access in rural Pennsylvania. LHTC plans to upgrade PTC’s network infrastructure to deliver faster Internet speeds and greater capacity, helping close the digital divide in Clinton and Lycoming Counties. LHTC remains committed to its mission of delivering high-quality, affordable technology services with friendly, local customer support that reflects the values of the communities it serves
