Ripe for Revival hosts ribbon cutting for new Brightspeed Mobile Market in Rocky Mount on Oct. 21
WHAT: Ripe for Revival will conduct a ribbon cutting for its new pay-what-you-can mobile market funded by Brightspeed, North Carolina-based provider of the country’s fastest internet service, as determined by HighSpeedInternet.com, at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2025.
BACKGROUND: Ripe for Revival, a Rocky Mount, N.C. nonprofit, operates a fleet of mobile markets selling local produce, meat and dairy to the public at about 30 percent off retail prices at about 30 sites per week in eastern and central North Carolina.
This investment by Brightspeed brings the Ripe for Revival fleet up to 10 mobile markets, a combination of converted campus buses and adapted trailers. Brightspeed serves more than 555,000 homes and businesses in North Carolina, including 53,000 in Edgecombe and Nash counties, with the connectivity needed for today’s digital world.
The ribbon cutting will happen before the mobile market event held every Tuesday at Station Square in downtown Rocky Mount, N.C
