Brightspeed Fiber Expansion Races Ahead in Northern Indiana: Six Communities Now Fully Fiber Enabled
High-speed Network Construction Underway in 14 Additional North Indiana Communities

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — November 3, 2025 — Brightspeed, the nation’s third-largest fiber broadband builder and provider of the country’s fastest internet service, as determined by HighSpeedInternet.com’s Annual Service Provider Review 2025, announced the completion of its fiber network build in Francesville, Knox, LaGrange, Nappanee, North Judson and Syracuse. With this milestone, more than 13,500 families and businesses in those communities now have access to reliable, blazing-fast connectivity empowering them to work remotely, learn online, participate in e-commerce, receive telehealth services and thrive in today’s hyperconnected world.

Expanding connectivity across Northern Indiana

Brightspeed is rapidly expanding access to reliable, high-speed connectivity across the Hoosier State where five in ten residents are unable to purchase a fiber internet plan.* The company’s multi-gig-speed fiber network will reach nearly 55,000 locations across Elkhart, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Marshall, Pulaski, St. Joseph and Starke counties once construction is complete.

“Transforming outdated copper networks into powerful fiber connections takes teamwork, and we’re proud to partner with local leaders who share our vision for connected communities,” said John Mizerak, director of government affairs at Brightspeed. “These partnerships are helping us deliver the reliable, high-speed fiber internet that families, students and businesses in rural and underserved areas need to grow and thrive.”

Leveraging state and federal investments

The company recently announced that Indiana awarded Brightspeed more than $24.5 million in federal Broadband Equity Access and Deployment (BEAD) program funding** to augment its private investment in building its fiber network to reach another 9,203 locations in the state. Approximately, $15.6 million of that BEAD funding together with Brightspeed’s investment of nearly $13 million will directly impact Kosciusko, LaGrange, Marshall, Pulaski, St. Joseph and Starke counties by expanding the company’s fiber build to reach nearly 4,800 additional locations in those counties.

The state of Indiana has also awarded Brightspeed more than $5.58 million in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to give 3,272 Hoosiers access to high-speed connectivity they don’t have today. Approximately $1.8 million of those ARPA funds together with Brightspeed’s multi-million-dollar investment will help bring super-fast fiber connectivity to more than 1,800 families and businesses in Pulaski, Marshall and St. Joseph counties.

Once construction is complete, Brightspeed Fiber Internet will reach nearly 170,000 homes and businesses statewide.

Connecting with the community door to door

As part of its community-first, customer-friendly approach, Brightspeed representatives are going door to door in Knox and Walkerton sharing information about new fiber services. Residents can expect:

  • Who: Friendly, fully trained sales representatives wearing Brightspeed-branded apparel.
  • What: Information about Brightspeed’s fiber internet service, plan options and benefits.
