Company accelerating construction, building fiber to two more communities in the Treasure State
HELENA, Montana – TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) has connected its 10,000th customer in Montana, reaching another milestone as the company plans an expansion and acceleration of construction in the state.
TDS marked the occasion at Helena’s Holter Museum of Art, where technicians installed high-speed fiber services and company representatives presented the organization with a gift basket and charitable donation.
Crews continue extending TDS’ fiber internet network to more neighborhoods in Helena as well as Billings, Butte, Great Falls, and Missoula. As TDS accelerates its construction in those communities, the company is also announcing plans to bring its network to the communities of Laurel and Lockwood, with work expected to begin later this year.
“TDS’ all-fiber, high-speed internet network is an essential part of keeping people connected, as well as helping businesses and nonprofits like the Holter Museum,” said Drew Petersen, TDS Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs. “We continue working hard to connect more neighborhoods and customers, but we’re proud to reach this great milestone and look forward to serving even more customers soon.”
TDS’ Montana network features a robust, fiber connection with speeds up to 8 Gigabit, which allows customers to download and upload files—regardless of size—nearly instantly. In addition, TDS service includes a sophisticated digital TV product (TDS TV®+) as well as phone and mobile options. For businesses, the company offers dedicated connections up to 10 Gig.
TDS, operating as TDS Metrocom LLC, is a family-owned company founded in 1969. TDS is making a significant capital investment in Montana to build its fiber network, while it also works to support the communities it serves through hands-on volunteering and in-kind and direct financial support.
Residents can visit TDSFiber.com to register for service, monitor the progress of construction, and sign up for notifications about the new service.
