TDS donates two years of internet service to Albertson Memorial Library in Albany, Wis.

July 7, 2026 – TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) is donating two years of high-speed internet service to Albertson Memorial Library in Albany, Wisconsin, helping the library expand reliable online access to residents who depend on it.

“We’re pleased to help play a part in supporting Albertson Memorial Library and its role in connecting residents to the online resources,” said Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs Drew Petersen. “Reliable internet access is essential for education, employment, health care, and everyday life, and efforts like this help close the digital divide in the communities we serve.”

TDS broke ground in mid-2025 on a multi-year network upgrade project to bring at least 100 Mbps and up to 1 Gig internet service to addresses in the company’s Albany-area footprint. The Madison-headquartered company is using support from the Federal Communications Commission’s Enhanced Alternative Connect America Cost Model program, known as E-ACAM, to help fund the work. E-ACAM provides funding to deploy and support 100/20 Mbps or faster broadband service to some of TDS’ most rural geographies. The company is also investing private dollars to bring faster speeds to additional area addresses.

“The Albertson Memorial Library is grateful for this generous donation,” said Melissa Everson, Albertson Memorial Library director. “We have patrons at the library every day who are using our public computers and the internet, including patrons who don’t have access to the internet in their homes. This donation will go a long way in providing services to people who live in the Albany community.”

The donation is part of TDS’ continued commitment to Albany. Earlier this year, the company donated $1,000 to Albany Elementary School to provide healthy snacks for students during the school day.

TDS offers internet, phone, and mobile services to local customers, including a low-cost, high-speed product called TDS Connect for qualifying residential customers.
