Janet Rehberg Begins Role as EPB CEO

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (September 1, 2026)—Today, Janet Rehberg begins her role as CEO of EPB, completing a year-long leadership transition designed to ensure continuity for employees, customers and the surrounding community. Rehberg succeeds David Wade, who is retiring after more than four decades at EPB.

Rehberg has served as EPB’s President and CEO-elect since September 2025, working alongside Wade and the leadership team to prepare for a seamless handoff. Over the past year, she has met with employees, customers and partners across EPB’s 600-square-mile service area to build on the company’s foundation and prepare for the future.

“I am deeply committed to EPB’s mission of enhancing quality of life for the people we serve,” said Janet Rehberg, EPB CEO. “Our focus is to build on the strong foundation EPB established under David Wade, while continuing to go above and beyond for our customers every day. I am honored to lead this organization and grateful for the trust our community places in us.”

Rehberg also highlighted the accomplishments of her predecessor. “David’s legacy is woven into everything we do,” Rehberg said. “I am thankful for his mentorship and support over the last two years.”

With more than two decades of experience in engineering, operations and strategic leadership across the electric industry, Rehberg joined EPB in 2024 as President of Strategic Initiatives, leading efforts to deploy next-generation energy and fiber optic technologies.  Prior to EPB, Rehberg served as Interim CEO, Chief Strategy Officer and Vice President of Engineering for Tri-County Electric Cooperative in Aledo, Texas, where she was responsible for formulating strategy and oversaw a wide range of departments including operational and engineering groups.

She previously held leadership roles with American Electric Power, where she helped lead grid modernization initiatives to strengthen system reliability and support emerging technologies. Rehberg earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tulsa and a Master of Business Administration from Capital University.  She serves on the board of the Hunter Museum of American Art and has contributed to numerous nonprofit, community and professional organizations.
