Expanding Leadership in Data Center Infrastructure Services, Network Connex Welcomes Ciprian Buciumean

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, January 20, 2026—Network Connex today announced the appointment of Ciprian Buciumean as Vice President, Data Center Engineering to accelerate strategic growth in the company’s data center infrastructure services.

With more than a decade of experience leading large-scale technology operations for global hyperscalers and hyper-growth organizations, Ciprian brings a rare blend of deep technical expertise, operational discipline, and entrepreneurial vision to this first-of-its-kind role at Network Connex.

Rapid expansion of AI workloads, increasing network complexity, and global demand for high reliability infrastructure are pushing data center operators to rethink how they deploy, activate, and scale mission critical systems. Ciprian will develop services offerings that directly address current challenges.

Driving Operational Excellence and Scaling Mission Critical Systems

Most recently, as Delivery Director at HCL Technologies, Ciprian oversaw edge network services across Meta data centers in three continents, leading program strategy and a global workforce to achieve SLA performance goals while delivering on capacity expansions, migrations, commissioning workflows, global process standardization, and safety improvements.

Ciprian also served as a strategic consultant on technology modernization for Eli Lilly, directing major enterprise technology initiatives for national pharmaceutical operations. His earlier career highlights include experience designing workflow improvements and rapid program scaling in the energy, software, and law verticals.

Strengthening Data Center Infrastructure Solutions

In his new role, Ciprian will oversee the expansion of Network Connex’s data center services portfolio including network engineering, AI cluster deployment and traffic engineering, commissioning and activation services, and managed network operations to directly counter data center operators’ pain points: time to capacity, network activation reliability, safety and compliance, and consistency across multisite, multivendor environments. With operational rigor and strategic foresight, Ciprian will help data centers anticipate issues before they occur, create clearer pathways through complex adds, decoms, and migrations, and deliver predictable outcomes in critical environments where even minor delays or inconsistencies can be severely disruptive.

To succeed, he’ll build a world-class team aligned to evolving customer needs while advancing innovation at Network Connex with new strategic ventures and improved technologies and workflows.
