  1. Who can access FRAN?
    FRAN is exclusively available to current FBA members during the beta period. You log in with your existing FBA member credentials, so no separate account setup is required. If you are not yet a member, visit fiberbroadband.org to learn about joining.

  2. What kinds of questions can I ask FRAN?
    You can ask about anything covered in FBA’s knowledge base — including upcoming events and conference details, industry research and publications, membership resources, policy positions, fiber technology standards, and more. FRAN is designed to understand natural conversational questions, so just ask the way you would ask a knowledgeable colleague.

  3. Is my conversation data private?
    Yes. FRAN runs on Betty’s platform, which keeps FBA’s content and member interactions completely separate from other organizations. FBA’s data is never used to train general AI models, and your conversations are subject to FBA’s existing privacy policies. Betty’s Responsible AI Statement is publicly available for reference.

  4. What if FRAN gives me an incorrect or incomplete answer?
    That is precisely what the beta phase is for. Please use the thumbs-up / thumbs-down feedback option inside FRAN and, where helpful, leave a short note about what was missing or incorrect. Our team reviews member feedback regularly. For time-sensitive or official matters, always verify with FBA staff or official FBA documentation.

  5. Will FRAN replace FBA’s member services team?
    No. FRAN is designed to handle fast, self-service lookups so you can get common information on your own without delay. Our member services team remains available for personalized support, complex inquiries, and anything that requires a human touch. FRAN is a complement to our people, not a replacement.

  6. How long will the beta period last?
    We have not set a fixed end date — we want to take the time needed to get FRAN right based on member feedback before a full launch. We will communicate clearly with all members well before any changes to access, features, or pricing take effect.
