Fiber Day on the Hill will take place on July 16th from 10AM - 2PM in the Rayburn Foyer and provides an informative, hands-on experience to learn more about fiber’s role in expanding broadband access, creating jobs, strengthening rural communities, and driving economic growth. This year’s Fiber Day comes as fiber continues to serve as the foundation of America’s digital infrastructure—enabling everything from everyday connectivity to emerging technologies like artificial intelligence.
Demonstrations will include:
• Fiber 101 – The foundation of future-ready infrastructure
• Workforce Development – Addressing the demand for skilled fiber technicians and broadband jobs and an opportunity to learn how to splice fiber
• Connecting Communities – An interactive community display of how fiber is powering essential infrastructure, from homes and healthcare to manufacturing and municipal services.
• Fiber Connecting AI and Emerging Technologies
Attendees are welcome to briefly drop in to experience the demos, try fiber splicing, and enjoy our giga-BITES station with Chick-fil-A, snacks, and more.
This event is designed to comply with House and Senate Ethics Rules. Executive Branch employees should obtain permission to attend from their designated agency ethics office.
