FBA Applauds Completion of State and Territory BEAD Proposal Approval

August 25, 2026 — The Fiber Broadband Association (FBA) released the following statement today on the National Telecommunications and Information Administration’s (NTIA) approval of Illinois’ Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) proposal:

“With Illinois’ approval, every U.S. state and territory now has a path forward to begin deployment. Fiber remains the largest single technology represented in BEAD deployment plans nationwide and is uniquely equipped to support growing AI-driven demand and multi-gigabit connectivity.
