FBA Official Statement on State of the Union Address
“The Fiber Broadband Association appreciates that President Biden reiterated his commitment to ensuring Americans have access to broadband connectivity in the State of the Union. His agenda
follows on the work of both Democrats and Republicans to pass the historic broadband provisions in the Infrastructure Act. By having a bi-partisan group commit to this goal, we are certain to propel the deployment of future-proof fiber networks universally. The President also mentioned that the Infrastructure Act will put ‘hundreds of thousands of people to work,’ including in jobs that will deploy high-speed fiber infrastructure. FBA has supported these bi-partisan workforce efforts, and we have already stood up a program to train the workforce that will be needed to deploy broadband. We look forward to working with the Administration and all Members of Congress to achieve these objectives together.”
