Fiber Broadband Association Applauds Senate Agriculture Committee Advancement of Farm Bill 2.0

September 16, 2026 — The Fiber Broadband Association (FBA) released the following statement today after the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry advanced the Agricultural Act of 2026, or Farm Bill 2.0:

“The Fiber Broadband Association applauds Chairman John Boozman and the Senate Agriculture Committee for advancing Farm Bill 2.0 and recognizing that reliable, high-capacity broadband is essential to the future of rural America.

“The bill’s provisions to codify the USDA ReConnect Program, streamline the application process, and provide greater certainty for broadband investment will help extend future-ready infrastructure to some of the nation’s hardest-to-serve communities.

“From precision agriculture and artificial intelligence to telehealth, advanced manufacturing, and small business growth, rural communities need fiber networks capable of supporting the technologies of today and the opportunities of tomorrow. FBA urges the full Senate to build on the committee’s progress and looks forward to working with Congress to move a final Farm Bill across the finish line.”
