Fybe Team Volunteers at Food Bank of the Albemarle During We Care Day
[Edenton, N.C.] – Fybe (“the company”), a broadband internet service provider, recently partnered with the Food Bank of the Albemarle in Elizabeth City as part of its ongoing We Care Day initiative, dedicating time to support local families and communities across Northeastern North Carolina.
On May 13, members of the Fybe team helped pack 154 food boxes totaling more than 5,000 pounds of nutritious food for senior neighbors facing food insecurity throughout the region. Each month, the Food Bank of the Albemarle supports 2,772 seniors across Northeastern North Carolina through its food assistance programs. The Fybe volunteer group included Sarah Tinkham, Sherry Cooper, Jamie Griffin, and Melissa Smith, who spent the morning assisting with warehouse operations and preparing food distributions that will support communities across the Food Bank’s 10-county service area.
“We’re proud to support organizations like the Food Bank of the Albemarle that make such a meaningful impact in the communities we serve,” said Bo Coughlin, President. “We Care Day is about giving our team opportunities to step away from their daily routines and support our neighbors.”
Food Bank leaders said volunteer support plays an essential role in helping the organization meet the growing needs of local communities.
“Volunteers are a critical resource and give more than 10,000 hours of their time to the Food Bank each year,” said Brian Gray, Chief Communications Officer, Food Bank of the Albemarle. “We appreciate the local Fybe team for packing food boxes to support our mission and ensuring our neighbors in Northeastern North Carolina have the food and resources they need.”
The Food Bank of the Albemarle serves as a critical resource for hunger relief and community support throughout the region, providing food assistance, education, and outreach programs to thousands of residents each year.
