AFL Foundation Donates $500,000 to Support Labor and Delivery Center Renovation at Bon Secours St. Francis Eastside

SPARTANBURG, S.C. | July 23, 2026 – The AFL Foundation today announced a $500,000 gift to support the renovation of the Labor and Delivery Center at Bon Secours St. Francis Eastside, a project expected to enhance the experience for mothers, newborns and families across the Upstate.

The renovation will include aesthetic enhancements throughout the center, a redesigned lobby, and upgraded soundproofing measures to create a more comfortable and welcoming environment for patients and their families. Construction is expected to take approximately six to nine months.

The gift reflects AFL’s core value of being Community Centered by serving, supporting and strengthening the places associates call home.

The gift will support ongoing enhancements throughout the Freissle Family Women’s Center, including renovations within the Labor and Delivery Center, which will be named in recognition of AFL Foundation’s support.

Representatives from the AFL Foundation and Bon Secours St. Francis Foundation gathered during the St. Francis Foundation’s summer board meeting to celebrate the gift and a shared commitment to supporting families throughout the region.
