AFL Introduces OptiNID® MAX Optical Demarcation Enclosure for High Density MDU Fiber Deployments

SPARTANBURG, S.C. | May 18, 2026 | AFL, a leading manufacturer of fiber optic cable, equipment, accessories and related services, today introduced the OptiNID® (OPN) MAX Optical Demarcation Enclosure, a compact, flexible solution designed to help service providers meet the accelerating fiber demands of multi dwelling unit (MDU) environments.

Designed to give service providers a single platform that fits a wide range of installation scenarios, the OPN MAX supports up to 12 SC simplex or LC duplex adapters and 24 single fiber splices. The enclosure is optimized for use with AFL FASTConnect® Mechanical Connectors and FUSEConnect® field installable connectors and features integrated fiber routing, cable retention and optional accessories that streamline installation from the truck to the wall.

The OPN MAX also supports single fiber deployment configurations and integrated slack storage applications, giving service providers greater flexibility to manage fiber efficiently and scale across a wide range of network architectures, including those aligned with BEAD funded buildouts.
